The Delton Community League was established in 1961, as part of Edmonton’s broader community league movement that began in 1917 to give neighbourhoods a stronger voice in city planning and development.
In the early 1960s, Delton was growing on Edmonton’s northeast edge, and residents came together to create a local hub for recreation, connection, and advocacy. By 1962, the league had built a community hall and outdoor rink at 88 Street and 123 Avenue, which remain the heart of the league’s activities to this day.
Over the decades, the Delton Community League has grown into a vibrant, volunteer-run organization offering programs, events, and facilities for all ages, from sports and skating to social gatherings and community initiatives. As a member of the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL), Delton continues a long tradition of grassroots civic participation, helping shape a safe, inclusive, and connected neighbourhood.
